Nightlife in Atlanta
Hole
in the Wall
The trendy Hole in the Wall is a favorite of
Buckhead Atlanta's young and hip crowd, who dance to the best 70's
and 80's grooves into the wee hours on the expansive dance floor.
The Hole's kitchen serves up tasty bar food.
The Mark
Ultralounge
The hip decor is reminiscent of a post-mod movie
set with a surreal scene that is marked by eerie lighting, luxe
lounge areas, weathered brick walls, contemporary artwork and TV
monitors hung at weird angles – a combined effect that would
probably leave Dali himself in awe. If Atlanta needed a lounge to
attract trend-setters, this sleek, hotel-style bar has definitely
hit the "mark."
Blind
Willie's
This club is named for Georgia's own "Blind"
Willie McTell, a legendary songwriter born in Thomson who is credited
with inking tunes such as "Statesboro Blues" and "Broke
Down Engine Blues." A neon alligator in the window beckons
you to catch the best blues acts around. Longtime regulars Sandra
Hall and the Shadows and Houserocker Johnson perform here weekly,
and other well-known local and national acts as well. Among the
historic blues performers to have performed here are Taj Mahal,
Rufus Thomas and Charles Brown. The place is filled Monday through
Saturday.
